A doubly good fundraiser for Maggie's Dundee
More than 400 women attended this year's Maggie's Dundee's Ladies lunch at Piperdam.
Demand for fund-raising tickets for the event were so high that two separate events had to be held, attracting 440 ladies in total.
Sheriff Lindsay Wood acted as MC and auctioneer for the lunches and entertainment was provided by special guests Britain's Got Talent runners-up, the Chippendoubles. The Beatles tribute band, Revolver, also provided entertainment.
There was a range of auction prizes for all, including a signed Colin Montgomerie golf shirt, quad biking, a signed Eliza Doolittle guitar with tickets to Fat Sams Live.
Maggie's Ladies Lunches were started six years ago by Maggie's Dundee Associate Board Chairwoman, Shirley Linton. Demand has grown year on year, resulting in the two events this year.
Community fund-raising co-ordinator for Maggie's, Tracey Curry, said the lunches had been a great success.
She said: "Our lunches are well known for entertainment, but people have been really taken aback by the quality of entertainment this year. We are now looking to host another two days next year. A huge thank you to Shirley and her staff for all their hard work on organising this event. Thanks also to all the local businesses that helped out by contributing raffle and auction prizes, and items for the tables – too many to mention."
