Summer is here and it's nearly time for People’s Postcode Lottery, a key supporter of Maggie’s, to host its Summer Rollover
The draw, which takes place on Sunday 18 July 2010, offers an unbelievable £2.2 million prize to one lucky postcode and, crucially, 40p from each ticket sold goes to worthy causes including Maggie’s.
The deadline to buy tickets for this draw is Wednesday 16 June
“Maggie’s is incredibly privileged to receive unrestricted funding from People’s Postcode Lottery”, said Maggie’s Corporate Partnerships Manager Laura McGill. “This form of funding is critically important as it allows good causes across the UK, including Maggie’s, to spend the money raised through ticket sales where it is most needed. So far the lottery has raised over £8.1 million for charities and over £1 million for Maggie’s which has helped us extend our cancer support programme to even more people across the UK.”
The last People’s Postcode Lottery Rollover visited Thurso in April, where one family won an astonishing £800,000 and Maggie’s Highlands Centre Head Carole Bridge was able to speak passionately about how the lottery’s funding had benefitted Maggie’s, allowing more people to have access to Maggie’s practical, emotional and psychological support.
The deadline for entering the Summer Rollover is Wednesday 16 June, but there are also weekly prizes of over £35,000 and so far over 70,180 winning tickets have scooped a prize fund of over £19 million.
